Meredith Metcalf writes darkly funny stories about the ways patriarchy sucks for everyone.

I'm drawn to themes of sexuality, consent, and toxic masculinity - and to making these uncomfortable topics accessible through snappy dialogue, badass genres, and a mix of humor with the grotesque.
My work has premiered at Sick Chick Flicks, End of Days Film Festival, and Sexual Healing Play Festival, all of which were very on-brand.
My plays have been presented at Dixon Place, Primary Stages ESPA, Manhattan Repertory Theater, and the Baumannn.
I'm a Next Wave member of New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT), an Assistant Production Coordinator with IATSE Local 161, and a screenwriting panelist for Women’s Weekend Film Challenge.
I studied Film & Media Management at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, where I received the Budnick Award for Transformation through Creativity for my work as president of the student-run TV station.
I did my honors thesis on Manic Pixie Dream Girls. I once traveled to Ludwigsburg, Germany to compete in their annual Pumpkin Kayak Regatta. Incredibly, this was not research for my thesis.
When not kayaking in pumpkins, I live in New York City with my two roommate/bandmates.
